Geberit float valve membrane seal | Ref. 240.771.00.1 | Built-in and surface-mounted cisterns

I have listed here the 2 symptoms requiring replacement of themembrane seal:

1st symptom:
It's tearing. With repeated opening and closing of the float valve, the seal eventually tears. This tear forms around the large cross-shaped lug. There's no choice but to replace the seal.

2nd symptom:
The gasket is whitish. The true "color" is transparent/opaque, but over time and with wear, the gasket turns white. This condition is often accompanied by a ring of limescale that interferes with the seal. Because the gasket's surface is damaged, limescale builds up more quickly, causing more regular leaks in the bowl. I recommend replacing it if you find it in this condition.
