This is the symptom requiring replacement of theprofiled joint:

Symptom: It's squashed. This seal is the most vicious I know... It looks like it's in good condition. To understand, you need to have a new seal next to it. Let me explain: the profiled seal (when new) has a well-flared outer lip, which allows it to be perfectly watertight when installed at the bottom of the tank. But over time, the lip squashes against the basin (white basket on which it is installed), letting water through and creating a leak in the bowl. This phenomenon is accentuated by limescale. It's quite simple, I recommend replacing this seal at each maintenance.
