I have listed here the symptoms requiring the replacement of these 2 seals:

The seal

1st symptom:
Small bubbles form on the surface of the gasket. These bubbles may resemble a small blister on your hand. Their random placement impairs the seal and causes a leak into the toilet bowl. This phenomenon is a defect. The only solution: replace the gasket.

2nd symptom:
The gasket is whitish. The true "color" is transparent/opaque, but over time and with wear, the gasket turns white. This condition is often accompanied by a ring of limescale that interferes with the seal. Because the gasket's surface is damaged, limescale builds up more quickly, causing more regular leaks in the bowl. I recommend replacing it if you find it in this condition.

3rd symptom:
The gray seal ref: 816.418. This reference is part of a black series from Geberit. It bubbles, much more than the others, as in the first symptom. I do not recommend keeping this seal, even if it does not yet have bubbles.

Manufacturer reference:816.418.00.1
Outer / inner diameter: 63mm x 32mm

The membrane seal

1st symptom:
It's tearing. With repeated opening and closing of the float valve, the seal eventually tears. This tear forms around the large cross-shaped lug. There's no choice but to replace the seal.
